| Dear Prayer Partners,
When Moses could no longer keep his hands raised, Aaron and Hur came alongside him and held them up until the battle was won. That’s what you do when you pray - you lift up those on the front lines who are bringing hope and healing in Jesus’ name, and in the very way God has called them. Your prayers steady them, strengthen them, and invite God’s power into their good, and often hard work. You may not see the battle directly, but through your intercession you are part of the help and victory God brings. Thank you for being such an essential part of Mending the Soul’s work.
So very grateful, The MTS Team
Exodus 17:12 - When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up - one on one side, one on the other, so that his hands remained steady till sunset.

| PRAYER & PRAISE
- We thank the Lord for Mama Daphrose Muteho (MTS master trainer) and her daughters, Josephine and Celestia, who have safely returned to Goma after a month of healing in Nairobi. Their stay followed a traumatic armed home intrusion on July 21. We deeply appreciate your prayers—they felt uplifted and strengthened by your support.
- Back in Goma, Mama Daphrose and her ministry partner, Mama Guylene Maseka, launched a wide evangelism and trauma counseling campaign at Himbi Institute, one of the city’s largest schools. We praise God for the 300 students who have already committed their lives to Christ. Thank you for your faithful prayers. Let’s continue to support the follow-up and faith-building efforts, as well as the counseling offered to over 400 other youth seeking spiritual care.
- Following the signing of the Accord of Principles in Washington, D.C. in June 2025, a brief period of calm was observed in East DRC. However, the war near Goma has tragically resumed with renewed intensity. New villages are being overtaken, lives are being lost, and many internally displaced persons (IDPs) are fleeing once again. Let us earnestly pray for a lasting and permanent ceasefire.
- Pastor Richard Kasai, also an MTS master trainer, is planning to establish a counseling center on Idjwi Island, located approximately 60 km southeast of Goma. Let us pray for this need.
- Let us pray for mental clarity, stamina, and discipline for our translation team as they work on rendering the second edition of the masterpiece Mending the Soul into French.

| PRAYER & PRAISE
- We bless the Lord for his protection during this time of growing insecurity. It was just a few days ago that the ADF (rebel group) massacred the people in NTOYO. After that, on 23 September 2025, several dozen were massacred in Katanga, Kasanga (Mayeba axis). On September 25th,2025, there was a carnage in Botambisi / Opyenge. This plunges us into a situation of despair of life given that our government does not assume its responsibilities to protect the population..
- During this massive displacement towards the city centre, the population abandoned their homes, fields and lost several possessions. Access to quality medical care has become a serious challenge, despite the presence of medical personnel in some of the health centers. At our facility, we continue to offer medical care to the wounded. This week alone, I have worked on eight patients from Mayeba.
- We want God to answer our prayers so that we may have lasting peace.
- We need prayer in our profession because, as we face the wounded, we hear the story of how they were being hacked to death with machetes, shot at point-blank range, which frustrates us even more.
- Many young people are currently enlisting in self-defense groups, as this poses a danger to their lives.
- May God intervene so that the Congolese authorities have mercy on the population; we are victims of people seeking their own interests.
- This situation is beyond us; God is our only hope.

| PRAISE
- Praise God for the current group of 30 adults going through the Explore course with Oscar and Consuelo Mora, which is going well, with just two weeks remaining. Because of the great response at Casa de Fe, church leadership has decided that pastors will also participate in Mending the Soul small groups. Consuelo plans to start a group specifically for the female pastors.
- Praise for the continued good response with the various groups who have gone through Explore groups in Guayaquil within the foster care preparation program.
- Praise God for the addition of Becky Bins, who began working with Andrea Quintero in July to help bring the Spanish translation of the Caring for the Vulnerable Child four book series to completion. Give thanks for these two women and the generous, joyful, and servant-hearted spirit they bring to this project.
PRAYER
- Please pray for wisdom and guidance for Consuelo and the leaders as they begin these new small groups, and that the participants would be encouraged and strengthened through the process..
- Please also pray for Becky Bins and Andrea Quintero as they continue the translation of Caring for the Vulnerable Child work, and that the project will be completed soon and used to bless many.
- Pray for Oscar Mora as he leads the discipleship ministry at La Roca church and proposes starting an Explore course open to the entire congregation.
- Pray for wisdom and guidance for Heather Wheelock and the Moras as they begin conversations with a new church that is interested in joining the foster care program and training MTS resource facilitators to help prepare families in their congregation.
- Pray that the word about the new foster care program, now being shared among the churches in Cuenca, Ecuador, would be well received. Ask that many families would respond with openness and take interest in beginning the process, which includes walking through the Explore material.
- Pray also for Sheree Wuertz, counselor and director of the Rock Family Center in Cuenca, who is leading this initiative. Ask the Lord to give her wisdom and discernment as she spearheads the program, and to bring comfort and encouragement to her and her family as they grieve the recent passing of her mother.
