August 2026

"Arise, shine for your light has come,
and the glory
of the Lord rises upon you.

See, darkness covers the earth and
thick darkness is over the peoples,

but the Lord rises upon you,
and his glory appears over you.

Nations will come to your light and kings
to the brightness of your dawn."

Isaiah 60:1-3, theme verse for
 Resplandece International

Jean-Pasteur Katavo

MTS Director of African Translations and Emerging Leader Development

Daphrose Muteho

MTS Director of Trauma-Informed Gracia Chaplaincy,
Adolescent and Women's Ministries

PRAISE

  • Praise for MTS trainers: We praise the Lord for Esther, Rosette, Guilaine, Patience, and Jodésie — five MTS master trainers now engaged in a six-week intensive chaplaincy school, being equipped to train future chaplains.

PRAYER

  • While we praise the Lord for such an opportunity, we pray that they are equipped effectively for the ministry assignment that is waiting for them.
  • Prayer for August refreshment: August 2026 is a month of refreshment and planning at MTS Goma. We pray for divine inspiration, renewed strength, and clear vision on behalf of the 35 master trainers and caregivers.
  • Intercession for DRC: The Congolese people are weary after 33 years of war, the 17th Ebola outbreak, and crushing poverty. Many have reached the breaking point, with hope nearly extinguished. Let us claim God’s special favor and mercy over the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Prayer for Daphrose and Katavo  who are preparing By His Wounds for adolescents, alongside a teacher’s guide, a Bible study guide, and the Kids’ Embrace Bible this month. Let us pray for illumination, health, and stamina as they carry this vital work forward.

David Mudeya

PRAISE

  • Seeing His protection over us, our families, our team members’ families, and communities.
  • He is providing us with the strength to accomplish several ministry activities, like the follow up of the radio outreach, the ongoing BHW to theology students, the BHW oral well accomplished this year.
  • The security that is slowly being built up in the area, after the hard moments of some weeks ago.

PRAYER

  • Still the Church in the region: for faith to get strengthened through the proclamation of the Gospel and discipleship.
  • The Lord’s blessing and anointing over the activities for August 2026: the Radio outreach programs, the COT training in Bulongo, and the Healing Groups follow-up at Kasindi, the Youth BHW conference on August 15-16.
  • Prayers for the MTS Partners in the Region: We are still praying that the Lord God will sustain the ministry partners with whom and through whom Mending the Soul works to reach the communities. These partners include CEPIMA Beni, Oicha and Bunia, CERESAM Beni and Mutwanga, CERAPEC, L2RCongo, BBC, UCBC, ECC and ERC Churches, USB, UBECA, the Excellent Group, and many others.

Moise Mawa

MTS Butembo, Lubero, Bashu Regional Office

Report: "We thank God for the gift of life He continues to grant us. Our family is in good health. However, since July 15th, we have been living in fear as the threat from the ADF draws closer to the center of Mambowa. Surrounding villages are emptying due to the fear of attacks; the populations of nearby villages—such as Kambau, Pawanja, Liboyo, and Kisasa (all within 15 km)—have already fled to Mambowa."

PRAISE

  • Let us praise God as a source of healing for trauma, especially in these times of insecurity.
  • Success of the By His Wounds Oral conference in Lubero/Musingiri.
  • Success of By His Wounds broadcast.
  • Healing of some confirmed cases of Ebola virus disease.

PRAYER

  • That God works through our authorities to restore security and allow these people to return to their homes.
  • All healthcare workers need prayer, as they are facing the threat from the ADF in addition to the stress caused by the Ebola virus disease.
  • We have a project to purchase a plot of land and build a house; we ask for your prayers so that this goal may be realized by the end of the year.
  • Prayer for protection of Christians' faith during war and Ebola virus disease turmoil.
  • Prayer for good health and peace in master trainers' families.
  • All healthcare workers need prayer, as they are facing the threat from the ADF in addition to the stress caused by the Ebola virus disease.
  • Pray for Children Our Treasure training in August in Butembo.
  • Pray for an end to war and killings in eastern DRC.
  • Pray for achievement of MTS objectives during the current fiscal year.

We are sending out this testimony to inform you of the upcoming Explore workshop—which is a major, significant event for us, and one we are asking for prayers for. It begins August 15 and will run through September 26. We already have 26 people signed up, and we are confident we’ll reach the full 50...
We have a team of 12 people, and I want to train and equip them so they can serve as MTS and Explore facilitators whenever a church requests it. I am trying to establish this as a fully functioning ministry here in Ecuador...
Please give my regards to everyone there with Mending the Soul—the directors and the rest—and may God bless their lives. And please pray my wife, for being part of this ministry—especially for the work she does leading women's groups.

 THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS!
THEY MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
